welcome oh welcome 2000 and 9
for this is the year that I claim to be mine!
I stand before you a creature of "nu",
pursuit of fortunes that have now come due.
My mind and eyes are focused on a path of ascension
while my ears are void of negative attention.
My voice is silent void of the need to speak
for my actions are obvious of what it is I Seek.
My skin is cleansed and laced of Bronzed light
that shines the path of my guided flight.
My heart beats calmly to the sound of the Almighty Savior who holds my Faith and keeps me in Favor.
My torso is shielded with armour confirmed through scripture while my arm and hands are the wings that shapes this picture.
So I embark upon this journey in 2000 and 9
seeking that which is rightfully mine.

farewell, farewell 2000 and 8
for the time has come to clean my plate.
So I wipe the slate and bid theee adieu
shedding a tear while thinking of you.
farewell to self made promises I couldn’t keep
fueled by dreams of prosperity that often hindered my sleep.
farewll to dreams that told of my impending successes, riches, and glory.
farewell to the spoils of my fruit produced by a harvest labored with tourmoil and worry.
farewell to negative thoughts and doubts spoken silently from within.
Welcome the Light that continues to shine and shield from my pains and sins.
So I bid thee farewell one last time
as I’m off to new things in 2000 and 9.

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

I sat on pins and needles that night as I’m sure a lot of other unsure voters did waiting patiently to see who would emerge the victor in this years historical presidential election. When it was finally noted that
Barack Obama was the victor I can hostly say that I almost cried, but I stayed firm and fought back the tears. That was until he gave his nomination speech. The tears starting flowing at the first "Yes we can" and by the end of the speech I was done! My phone started ringing and everyone close to me who felt like expressing their joy called as did I the same. To be alive to witness an event of this magnitude is awesome on the highest level. I mean to witness his journey first hand and see him mature and grow into this "creature of change" is something I will always be inspired by for change is the essence of my "nu".

Its eight o’clock on a Sunday morning and I’m wrestling with a promise I made with myself to go on a 30 mile bike ride on the Silver Comet. I step outside for a look-see and I’m easily reminded of why I have my thermostat set to 75 degrees. It’s cold and a quick check of the forecast advises me that the current temperature is 35 degrees with a high expected of 53. So I have three choices:
- I can continue with my early ride and be back in time for kick-off. Falcons @ Carolina, should be a good game.
- I can postpone the ride until noon allowing the temperature to rise a few degrees.
- I can go back to sleep and wait until spring. HA! Stop ya’ whinin’ and suck it up, punk!
So I choose to continue with the early ride as planned and will try to arrive at the Silver Comet by 9am as expected. Before heading off to my ride there are a few things I have to take into account to prepare for the cold weather and I’ll cover them here.

After 5 years of chuggling & struggling my old direct attached storage (DAS) unit died on me about a month ago causing me to loose all of the data I had stored on it. This device was configured as a RAID 5 partition and attached to my web server as a shared drive. This drive contained all of my websites, their MySQL databases, and a spare drive being used as backup. And I call myself an administrator! Dumb a$$!
